CCTV for Home & Business
Capture Criminals in the Act

Deter and Detect Criminal Activity

CCTV cameras are familiar to us all, having been used for years in areas like car parks, on motorways, in many public buildings and businesses such as pubs and retail stores. They’re there to keep an eye out for criminal activity, and in recent years CCTV is being used more and more often by homeowners as part of their security measures.

CCTV cameras both for the home and commercial premises have been proven to not only be useful in catching criminals and vandals in the act, footage being valuable as evidence, but the visible presence of CCTV also acts as a powerful deterrent to keep intruders and vandals at bay.

Here at Active Fire & Security we are clued up on the capabilities of all types of CCTV systems, from basic wired cameras and monitors to the latest wireless versions with all sorts of exciting advanced features.

High Definition CCTV

CCTV security surveillance is only useful if the picture you receive from the cameras is clear enough to identify problems or perpetrators.

Technology has advanced since the introduction of these great defenders against crime, so that today we are able to install affordable high definition systems that provide high resolution images both indoors and outdoors, day or night, which come with the facility to monitor, store and review the footage they record.

Some systems include features like being able to “tune in” and see the images on a smartphone, and/or receive text notifications if the cameras are activated.

Whether you wish to install CCTV at your home or business premises in Bath, Bristol or surrounding area, Active Fire & Security will set you up with an appropriate system to suit, install it expertly and maintain it for you.

Privacy Laws

If you’re thinking of installing CCTV to protect your home you should be aware that your CCTV use has to comply with Data Protection regulations.

You’re allowed to set up your CCTV to capture images within the boundary of your private property – and that includes the garden – but if your camera captures images of anyone outside your own property (neighbours and passers-by for example) then you’ll need a very valid reason for doing so, and have to put up signage to inform people they are being filmed, and why.

As part of our customer service the Active Fire & Security CCTV team will be able to explain the law to you and ensure that your domestic CCTV set up complies with data protection laws.

Home or business, there’s no doubt that CCTV is the perfect addition to your arsenal to ensure a highly efficient security setup.
